Machinist II (Engineered Plastics)

What you will do

• Operate CNC and manual machines, including mills, lathes, grinders, and drills, to fabricate production parts.
• Set up machines to achieve close tolerances, fitting, and alignment of machined parts.
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring devices.
• Read drawings, sketches, and specifications; apply GD&T requirements and troubleshoot machining, tooling, programming, and material issues.
• Perform preventative machine maintenance, tool grinding, and safe equipment operation.
• Maintain production records, support machinist training, and recommend process improvements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of trade-school apprenticeship or equivalent shop experience.
• Technical training in shop mathematics and blueprint reading.
• Ability to read and understand basic blueprints and work within close tolerances.
• Ability to use a wide range of precision measuring devices and follow safety and quality procedures.

Nice to have

• Experience working with engineered plastics.
• Understanding of GD&T.
