Electronics Technician - Senior Level (Automotive): Building, testing, troubleshooting, and documenting wiring harnesses for prototype and concept vehicles with an accent on vehicle electrification, autonomous vehicles, and unmanned vehicle platforms. Focus on interpreting schematics, applying IPC 620C processes, installing electrical systems, and solving complex harness and vehicle electronics problems.

What you will do

  • Interpret engineering schematics, pin schedules, and loom drawings to build quality wiring harnesses.
  • Construct, test, troubleshoot, and repair harnesses using IPC 620C processes and standard electronics tools.
  • Support prototype and concept vehicle development focused on electrification, autonomous vehicles, and unmanned platforms.
  • Perform quality checks, manage inventory, and procure electronics lab materials.
  • Update and redline wiring harness diagrams and manufacturing documents with Engineering.
  • Provide instruction to less experienced technicians and practical feedback on products and processes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • 5+ years of electronic harness build, testing, or repair experience.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, identify color-coded wires and labels, and apply electrical theory.
  • Ability to work on vehicles and equipment, including in elevated, underneath, and confined areas.
  • Proficiency with voltmeters, hand tools, soldering irons, and other electronics equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail, dependability, initiative, teamwork, and verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to have

  • Military specification harness-building experience.
  • Printed circuit board assembly and repair experience.
  • High-voltage system safety experience and knowledge of automotive systems.
  • Knowledge of CAN, LIN, Ethernet, embedded control systems, and electrical testing methods.
