Project Engineer - Hardware Electronics (Automotive)

Location: Troy, MI, USA; full-time onsite position

What you will do

• Design schematics for discrete electronics and embedded microprocessor-based control systems.
• Perform requirements analysis, DFMEA, Worst Case Circuit Analysis, and thermal analysis.
• Oversee PCB layout with EMC considerations and manage electrical hardware BOM selection.
• Lead prototype, pre-production, qualification, validation, and product maintenance activities.
• Support DV/PV validation, external EMC laboratory testing, troubleshooting, and 8D issue resolution.
• Coordinate with customers, software engineers, production, purchasing, and suppliers throughout the development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in electronic hardware design, preferably in the automotive industry.
• Experience with LIN and CAN communication circuits.
• Proficiency in WCCA using Mathcad or PSpice, DFMEA, and thermal analysis.
• Experience directing PCB layout with EMC considerations.
• Ability to work full-time onsite in Troy, Michigan, and collaborate with customers and cross-functional engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with door control modules or memory seat modules.
• Experience with DC motor controls using PWM.
