Automotive Electrician (Automotive)

Location: Clearwater, Florida, United States; onsite work with inside and outside exposure

Starting rate: $20.27–$24.93 based on experience

Frontline Communications, an Oshkosh company and division of Pierce Manufacturing, designs and manufactures customized broadcast and communications vehicles for electronic news gathering, satellite uplink, field production, bonded cellular, and weather reporting.

What you will do

• Install and connect electrical wiring systems on heavy trucks.
• Install electrical conduit and boxes according to blueprints.
• Route wires and harnesses through vehicle chassis and bodies.
• Mount standard and optional equipment and complete the required wiring.
• Perform functional tests and correct or adjust electrical problems.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and communicate effectively with coworkers.

Requirements

• At least six months of related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and shop orders.
• Knowledge of AC/DC electricity.
• Ability to use small and pneumatic hand tools.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, perform bending, climbing, pushing, and pulling motions, and lift at least 35 pounds.
• Ability to wear required PPE, including steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, and a vest.

Nice to have

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Technical degree or certificate in automotive technology, diesel, electromechanical studies, or a related field.
• Automotive or truck electrical repair and diagnostic experience.
• Experience with computer ordering and inventory programs.
