Senior Electrical Hardware Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Troy, MI, USA; onsite, full-time

What you will do

• Design schematics for discrete electronics and embedded microprocessor-based automotive controls.
• Perform requirements analysis, DFMEA, worst-case circuit analysis, and thermal analysis.
• Oversee PCB layout with EMC considerations and manage electrical hardware BOM selection and supplier approvals.
• Support hardware prototypes, pre-production, qualification, product maintenance, design reviews, and production releases.
• Validate control modules during DV/PV phases, including external EMC laboratory testing and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with customers, software engineers, production, and purchasing teams to resolve technical issues and support new-business bids.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in electronic hardware design, preferably in the automotive industry.
• Experience with LIN and CAN communication circuits.
• Proficiency in WCCA using Mathcad or PSpice, DFMEA, and thermal analysis.
• Experience directing PCB layout with EMC considerations.
• Permanent, full-time work in Troy, Michigan.

Nice to have

• Experience with door control modules or memory seat modules.
• Experience with DC motor controls using PWM.
