Senior Electrical Manufacturing Engineer – Electrical & SDV (Automotive)

Location: Onsite at the Warren Tech Center, Warren, Michigan, United States; full-time onsite work with 25–50% domestic and international travel. Relocation benefits may be available under company policy.

What you will do

• Design and implement electrical test systems for production lines, including alignment, continuity, and functional testing.
• Lead end-to-end project management for electrical hardware systems, including delivery, cost, performance, and risk management.
• Coordinate the design, development, integration, installation, commissioning, and validation of electrical test equipment.
• Partner with manufacturing, quality, software, vehicle engineering, mechanical, and plant operations teams to resolve issues and maintain program timing.
• Ensure electrical hardware systems meet manufacturing readiness, reliability, and plant integration requirements.
• Provide stakeholder updates, risk assessments, mitigation plans, and cross-functional alignment.

Requirements

• For the Senior Engineer level: 5+ years of experience in electrical hardware development, manufacturing engineering, or automotive systems engineering.
• Understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and hardware integration.
• Experience coordinating installation, validation, and support of electrical test equipment or manufacturing electrical systems.
• Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.
• Familiarity with electrical testing, diagnostic equipment, and integration into manufacturing environments.
• Must work onsite at the Warren Tech Center and must not require GM immigration sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Hardware design experience, including circuit board or system-level design.
• Experience with vehicle alignment equipment.
• Exposure to robotics, automation equipment, or machine vision.
• Familiarity with MES systems or production data tracking tools.
• Knowledge of in-vehicle software tools such as Neo VI, Vehicle Spy, DPS, or MERS, and plant electrical tools and processes.
