Senior Electrical Manufacturing Engineer (Electrical & SDV)

Location: Onsite at the Warren Tech Center in Warren, Michigan, United States; full-time onsite attendance required. Regular domestic and international travel of approximately 25–50% is required.

What you will do

• Design and implement electrical test systems for production lines, including alignment, continuity, and functional testing.
• Lead end-to-end projects for electrical hardware systems, managing delivery timing, costs, and performance requirements.
• Coordinate the design, development, integration, installation, commissioning, and validation of electrical hardware and test equipment.
• Partner with mechanical, electrical, quality, software, manufacturing, vehicle engineering, and plant operations teams.
• Resolve engineering and production issues, remove roadblocks, and maintain program timing.
• Ensure manufacturing readiness, system reliability, plant integration, stakeholder communication, and risk mitigation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in electrical hardware development, manufacturing engineering, or automotive systems engineering for the senior level; 2+ years may qualify for the non-senior level.
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and hardware integration.
• Experience installing, validating, and supporting electrical test equipment or manufacturing electrical systems.
• Familiarity with electrical testing, diagnostic equipment, and manufacturing environments.
• Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.
• Work authorization must not require GM immigration sponsorship now or in the future; GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.

Nice to have

• Hardware design experience at circuit-board or system level.
• Experience with vehicle alignment equipment.
• Exposure to robotics, automation equipment, or machine vision.
• Familiarity with MES systems, production data tracking tools, and in-vehicle software tools such as Neo VI, Vehicle Spy, DPS, or MERS.
• Knowledge of plant electrical tools and processes, including MPPTT and end-of-line testing.
