Environmental Scientist/Engineer/Geologist

Location: Cary, North Carolina, United States; field work at environmental project sites is required.

Salary: USD $55,016–$85,654 per year, depending on experience, education, skills, and geographic location. An annual discretionary bonus may also be available.

What you will do

• Conduct soil, groundwater, soil gas, indoor air, stormwater, and surface water monitoring and sampling.
• Perform environmental assessments, investigations, site inspections, feasibility tests, and remedial implementation.
• Support site assessment, investigation, remedial strategy development, and regulatory closure activities.
• Prepare technical documents, proposals, work plans, and project specifications.
• Oversee subcontractors and support project scope, schedule, quality, and financial management.

Requirements

• B.S. degree in Geology, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
• 0–5 years of experience in environmental consulting or engineering, focused on investigation and remediation projects.
• Ability to interpret the intent and wording of environmental regulations across multiple states, including North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Georgia.
• Strong communication, writing, problem-solving, mechanical, and computer skills.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening, background screening, and motor vehicle records checks.

Nice to have

• Professional Geologist or Professional Engineer license.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
