Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

Location: Austin, Texas; eligibility to work in the United States required. Scheduled shifts follow Eastern Time: 9am–6pm, 10am–7pm, or 11am–8pm ET.

Salary: $125,000–$135,000 annually, with bonus opportunities.

What you will do

• Assess the mental and physical health of adolescent and adult patients across the lifespan.
• Diagnose psychiatric and mental health conditions and distinguish physiological from psychological disorders.
• Conduct individual psychotherapy and develop, implement, and evaluate treatment plans with an interdisciplinary team.
• Prescribe psychotropic medications, including controlled substances, order diagnostic tests, and monitor treatment response and side effects.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, risks, benefits, and treatment options.
• Document care, coordinate follow-up, complete approved forms, and practice according to HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, state regulations, and national standards.

Requirements

• Current board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) license required.
• At least 2 years of experience practicing as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Experience treating addiction, mental health conditions, severe mental illness, and substance-use dual diagnoses in patients aged 13 and older.
• Experience with motivational interviewing, treatment planning, comprehensive assessments, and timely EHR documentation.
• Comfort with telehealth software, video communication, patient de-escalation, and collaboration with clinical leadership.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorship or assistance obtaining work eligibility is not available. Florida- and New York-licensed clinicians must hold and maintain active DEA registration.

Nice to have

• Spanish-speaking ability; proficiency in other languages is a plus.
• Previous telehealth experience.
• Experience in community mental health.
