Lead Design Engineer

Location: Fully onsite in Cudahy, Wisconsin, USA; not eligible for hybrid or remote work. Travel in the US and overseas may reach 10% after required training.

What you will do

• Design and develop compressors and package units that meet engineering, production, quality, and customer specifications.
• Lead projects from inception through completion and coordinate pre-job planning, scheduling, and management.
• Develop and execute programs to test products under varying operating conditions.
• Assemble and disassemble compressors and components hands-on in the laboratory.
• Review drawings, approve design changes and releases, and develop standards that improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Analyze test data, document procedures and results, recommend equipment or method changes, and lead cross-functional problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and at least 10 years of mechanical experience, preferably in rotating machinery and compressor design.
• Hands-on mechanical experience with proficiency in 3D and 2D design tools such as Inventor and AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in mechanical and thermodynamic calculations, geometry, trigonometry, probability, and statistical inference.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, regulatory codes, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
• Ability to write technical reports and procedures, present information, and communicate effectively with sales, customers, and internal stakeholders.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not provided.
