What you will do
- Design and implement large-scale distributed applications, deployment solutions, and supporting infrastructure.
- Engineer systems across Windows and Linux environments, physical and virtual servers, datacenters, and public and private clouds.
- Establish systems design standards, implementation plans, best practices, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with application architects, designers, and operations staff to improve service reliability and efficiency.
- Develop technical implementation documentation, workflows, and architecture diagrams.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience as a Systems Engineer or Systems Administrator designing Linux- and Windows-based platforms.
- At least 2 years of experience automating cloud infrastructure, configuration management, and application deployments using tools such as CloudFormation, Azure Resource Groups, Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.
- At least 2 years of experience designing and implementing AWS and/or Azure systems, including networking, load balancing, high availability, disaster recovery, and security.
- Experience with MS SQL, MySQL or PostgreSQL, and preferably NoSQL databases.
- At least 1 year of experience with logging technologies such as ELK or Filebeat, plus programming or scripting experience in Perl, Python, HTML5, Unix shell, or PowerShell.
- Working knowledge of Git, Bitbucket, AWS ECR, Nexus, ticketing systems, DevOps, infrastructure as code, and Agile/Scrum.
Nice to have
- AWS, Red Hat/Linux, Microsoft, or VMware certifications.
- Experience with AWS CloudWatch, Azure OMS, SCOM, and monitoring integration.
- Knowledge of WAF, DDoS protection, penetration testing tools, SELinux, Windows security, Apache, PHP, Tomcat, JBoss, and Fuse.
