General Foreman (Electric Utility)

Location: Field-based, primarily out-of-town during the workweek, with weekly overnight travel and frequent extended travel for storm recovery and power outage response.

What you will do

• Supervise foremen, linemen, apprentices, equipment operators, laborers, and other craft personnel.
• Lead safe, productive, and quality overhead and underground distribution construction, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operations.
• Plan manpower, materials, tools, equipment, and look-ahead schedules to meet project deadlines and contract requirements.
• Perform and oversee switching operations and work involving transformers, regulators, reclosers, switches, metering equipment, and underground switchgear.
• Coordinate equipment repairs, inspections, documentation, work orders, safety analyses, timesheets, and incident reports.
• Train crew members in construction methods, equipment operation, safety procedures, and company policies while supporting foremen and project managers.

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of experience working on and around energized high-voltage primary electric lines.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting primary and secondary systems, splicing, switching operations, riser construction, and moderate overhead work.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid CDL-A license with a clear driving record.
• Ability to travel routinely and with little notice, including weekly overnight travel, extended out-of-area assignments, and storm recovery deployments.
• Ability to understand and use spoken and written English to communicate instructions, expectations, and technical information.

Nice to have

• Completion of an apprentice program or technical training as a lineman.
• Several years in a Journeyman Lineman classification.
