Lead Engineer- Commissioning

Location: Berlin, Connecticut; work is performed in office and field environments with travel between Connecticut and Massachusetts.

Salary: $140,650–$156,280 annually, plus potential incentive.

What you will do

• Develop standards, procedures, and project plans for testing and commissioning high- and medium-voltage substations.
• Oversee testing and commissioning activities for breakers, transformers, controls, systems, relays, and metering.
• Review, collect, and approve project test data.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions for commissioning issues.
• Conduct project audits focused on safety, human performance, compliance, and system reliability.
• Provide technical guidance and training to less experienced commissioning engineers and perform supervisory duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology.
• At least eight years of utility transmission and distribution engineering experience.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering, with a focus on substation testing and commissioning preferred.
• Valid Connecticut or Massachusetts driver’s license.
• Must be available to travel between Connecticut and Massachusetts and respond to emergency storm assignments.
