Project Scientist - CSST or CAC

Location: Irvine, California, with work across Los Angeles, San Diego, and Orange County, CA; travel to client project sites is required.

Salary: USD $28.50–$45.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Coordinate and perform regulated materials surveys covering asbestos, lead, mold, indoor air quality, PCBs, and universal wastes.
• Manage regulated materials abatement oversight and air monitoring services.
• Conduct indoor air quality, moisture, and microbial assessments and prepare remediation work plans.
• Develop sampling strategies and evaluate airborne dust, gas, and mist concentrations, employee exposure, and control effectiveness.
• Coordinate with client account managers and project teams across industrial sectors.
• Travel to client sites and support fieldwork, including work in roofs, crawl spaces, attics, and other challenging areas.

Requirements

• Certified Asbestos Consultant (CAC) or Certified Site Surveillance Technician (CSST) certification required.
• 2–4+ years of experience in regulated materials, indoor air quality, or industrial hygiene activities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
• Environmental consulting or engineering experience in California, including asbestos, lead, PCBs, mold, industrial hygiene, safety, or hazardous materials.
• Valid driver’s license, ability to travel, and ability to pass background, drug, physical, and motor vehicle record checks.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, adaptability, and ability to work emergency-response schedules and physically demanding sites.

Nice to have

• Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification.
