Technician Associate- Technician (Electrical Engineering Technology)

Location: Roanoke, Virginia; must reside within 45 minutes of the Loch Haven Service Center

Salary: $31.72–$36.41 per hour

What you will do

• Perform entry-level technical work related to utility equipment and facilities.
• Support planning, engineering, design, analysis, research, development, testing, construction, maintenance, and operations activities.
• Apply technical knowledge to solve routine problems and improve processes and technical skills.
• Plan and prioritize work according to company standards and maintain accurate records.
• Communicate with internal and external customers and contribute to technical reports.
• Patrol distribution power lines, determine damage, and perform field survey and clearing activities as required.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Electrical, Electronic, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field plus 2 years of related utility industry experience; or high school diploma/equivalent plus 4 years of related utility industry experience.
• For the Technician Associate level, a high school diploma/equivalent plus 2 years of related utility industry experience may also qualify.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to reside within 45 minutes of the Loch Haven Service Center in Roanoke, Virginia.
• Ability to walk varied terrain in adverse conditions and handle measuring and switching sticks weighing up to 11 pounds.
• May need to use a brush axe or machete for field clearing and survey work.
