Product Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Southfield, Michigan, United States; onsite role. Candidates must already be legally authorized to work in the United States.

What you will do

• Lead product development from concept through production launch for automotive and industrial applications.
• Design and release mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical products, assemblies, and systems.
• Prepare engineering specifications, BOMs, CAD models, drawings, schematics, and product documentation.
• Lead design validation, simulation, testing, DFMEA, product qualification, DFM, and engineering change activities.
• Support product launches, PPAP/APQP activities, pre-production builds, process validation, and quality improvement.
• Coordinate with customers, suppliers, manufacturing, quality, procurement, and program management teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of product development, design engineering, or product engineering experience in automotive, industrial, transportation, or related industries.
• Fluency in Korean and English is required.
• Experience leading engineering development from concept through production launch and releasing mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical products.
• Working knowledge of DVP&R, DFMEA, PFMEA, APQP, PPAP, design validation, and engineering change management.
• Experience with CAD and engineering tools such as Creo, CATIA, NX, AutoCAD Electrical, Capital, Zuken, or equivalent, plus familiarity with relevant manufacturing processes.

Nice to have

• Experience with high-voltage automotive systems, power distribution, wiring systems, connectors, busbars, power electronics, battery systems, or controls integration.
• Knowledge of mechanical analysis, thermal management, structural design, materials engineering, FEA, CFD, circuit analysis, or electrical testing.
• Experience with mechatronic products, automotive OEM or Tier 1 development processes, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Design for Six Sigma.
