Java/Python Sr Software Engineer (Fintech)

Base salary: $155,000–$197,000 per year

What you will do

• Drive full-stack application development across cloud-native and hybrid architectures supporting portfolio management and trading.
• Design scalable APIs and integrations with security, monitoring, logging, testing, and reliability controls.
• Develop rich UI components with React or Angular and manage AWS infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
• Own production operations, approve changes, troubleshoot failures, and lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Partner with business, product, vendors, and project teams to define requirements, technical designs, delivery plans, and system integrations.
• Lead code reviews, documentation, quality governance, mentorship, and technical oversight for employees, contractors, and vendor resources.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a lead role.
• Strong full-stack development skills with JavaScript, React or Angular, Node.js or Java/.NET/Python, and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with AWS architecture and services, including Glue, Lambda, API Gateway, IAM, S3, and CloudWatch.
• Experience with CI/CD tools including Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
• Strong API development and integration experience.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, Cypress, or Selenium.
• Proven ability to lead teams and drive cross-functional delivery in a matrix environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in asset management, investment banking, or wealth management.
• Knowledge of front-office platforms and workflows, including SMA, OMS, PMS, and risk engines.
• Experience with SMA or ETF platforms and fund lifecycle processes.
• Familiarity with Snowflake, Python, and event-driven architecture.
• Exposure to regulatory reporting, ESG data pipelines, or performance attribution systems.
