Staff Web Engineer, Advisor Products (Fintech)

Location: New York, NY office; in-person hybrid attendance required at least 3 days per week.

Base pay: $230,000–$270,000 USD for Zone 1 locations, with additional bonus opportunities, equity, and benefits. Other compensation zones range from $180,000–$238,000 USD.

What you will do

• Design and build full-stack web systems, backend services, and user-facing web applications for Advisors and Investors.
• Create scalable technical architectures and reason through system design tradeoffs.
• Partner with engineering, product, marketing, and finance stakeholders to turn ambiguous requirements into technical plans.
• Coach and review engineers’ work while improving code quality, design rigor, and delivery practices.
• Define mechanisms for applying engineering best practices throughout the development cycle.
• Communicate progress and technical tradeoffs with technical and non-technical audiences, including customers when needed.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional engineering experience, several years at the staff level, and prior Team Lead experience.
• Hands-on experience building and scaling web systems using React, TypeScript, and Node, with proficiency in Go and Python.
• Experience designing and reasoning about scalable, reliable architectures at the Staff Engineer IC6 level or equivalent.
• Strong judgment in understanding user needs and translating them into sound product decisions.
• Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI-assisted workflows and shipping AI-powered features.
• iOS or Android development experience.
