Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack

Location: Hybrid, United States; eligible office locations include New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Irvine, McLean, and Washington, DC.

Base salary: $127,000–$235,000 USD annually, depending on location, skills, experience, and internal equity. Annual bonus may also apply.

What you will do

• Design and build scalable backend services, APIs, and data-processing pipelines for a document analysis platform.
• Define API contracts and contribute to service architecture, distributed systems, and microservices decisions.
• Build integrations with third-party services and internal AI/ML systems.
• Contribute to frontend features and React components to deliver end-to-end functionality.
• Optimize data-intensive backend operations and improve reliability, maintainability, and scalability.
• Improve developer experience through CI/CD automation and production operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of professional full-stack development experience with a strong focus on backend systems.
• Proficiency in Node.js, Python, or Go, API design, TypeScript, and React.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, database design, data modeling, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, or comparable containerization, orchestration, and hyperscaler platforms.
• Foundation in distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and web fundamentals; experience with microservices and message queues.
• Understanding of CI/CD fundamentals and experience working in single-tenant architectures.
• Experience building data-processing pipelines or working with large-scale data systems and optimizing backend performance for data-intensive applications.
• Experience with object-oriented design, functional programming principles, strong communication and collaboration, action-oriented problem solving, and scope minimization.
• Interest in language and economics; ability to work effectively in a high-leverage, fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with technologies such as monorepo, jujutsu, mise, and pprof.
