What you will do

• Coordinate technical operators during live newscasts, recorded productions, special programming, and remote broadcasts.
• Direct broadcast execution, including timing, transitions, cameras, graphics, audio, playback, and other production sources.
• Supervise and assign duties to production personnel in the control room and program production areas.
• Monitor program content and guide camera operators and production staff on shot composition and execution.
• Collaborate with producers, anchors, reporters, Engineering, Production, and News departments to resolve technical issues and maintain operational readiness.
• Operate, test, and monitor production switchers and other broadcast equipment; train production staff on operational procedures and broadcast standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least two years of television production or news operations experience, preferably in a live news environment.
• Strong understanding of television production workflows and control room operations.
• Proficiency with broadcast production systems, video switchers, graphics systems, playback servers, newsroom computer systems, and production technology.
• Strong communication, organization, troubleshooting, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during breaking news or special events.

Nice to have

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Broadcasting, Communications, Television Production, or a related field.
• Prior experience directing live newscasts.
