Senior Project Accountant

What you will do

• Own the financial administration of assigned projects, including setup, invoicing, project costs, purchase orders, requisitions, budgets, and timesheets.
• Oversee finance activities for a Managed Cost Centre by reviewing monthly results, analyzing performance metrics, and recommending corrective actions.
• Manage project controls activities including baselines, work package agreements, cost control, estimates, earned value management, forecasts, projections, schedules, and variance analysis.
• Partner with project managers and operational stakeholders to identify risks and opportunities, challenge financial data, and support business decisions.
• Maintain risk registers, participate in project and business reviews, and ensure reporting is completed according to the reporting calendar.
• Provide training, guidance, and supervision to Project Accountants while leading finance projects and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Degree-level education or equivalent qualification.
• Part-qualified Chartered Accountant.
• Extensive project accounting experience, preferably in engineering, construction, infrastructure, or an international consulting environment.
• Advanced experience with WIP, project financial management, cost control, forecasting, and contract accounting.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and stakeholder-partnering skills.
• Experience with accounting systems and ERP platforms, ideally EBS and Oracle, plus strong Excel skills and experience managing projects in multiple currencies.
