TL;DR
RN-Nurse Navigator (Oncology): Coordinating continuity of care and delivering professional nursing services for oncology patients in an on-site cancer center with an accent on patient assessment, treatment administration, education, and interdisciplinary coordination. Focus on managing symptoms and medication needs, facilitating diagnostics and referrals, performing venipuncture and central-line care, and supporting ambulatory infusion-pump use.

Location: On-site in Wichita, Kansas, United States. Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM; no weekends, on-call shifts, or major holidays.

What you will do

  • Coordinate and evaluate continuity of care for oncology patients in collaboration with providers and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Assess patient health status, review laboratory, radiographic, and psychosocial information, and document nursing interventions.
  • Prepare and administer therapies, medications, blood products, and continuous drug delivery through ambulatory infusion pumps.
  • Provide patient and family education, psychosocial support, symptom management, and assistance with community resources.
  • Coordinate consultations, diagnostic tests, referrals, procedures, appointments, medication refills, and patient-flow activities.
  • Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, maintain central lines, support clinical research, and provide nursing coverage at satellite offices as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program; BSN preferred.
  • Current RN license and registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification and ongoing continuing education.
  • 0–3 years of nursing experience; at least one year of oncology experience preferred.
  • Ability to handle and lift patients, stand and walk for extended periods, and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to work on site in Wichita, Kansas.
