Project Manager Senior Principal

Location: On-site in New Albany, Ohio, with work at AEP offices, power plants, nuclear facilities, construction sites, and other AEP locations; travel is typically 25% or less, with additional travel possible.

Salary: $87,633–$151,132 per year, depending on project manager level.

What you will do

• Plan, coordinate, supervise, and close base, intermediate, and complex projects using Waterfall and Agile project management methods.
• Manage project and outage plans, schedules, budgets, cost controls, funding reallocations, and project reporting.
• Lead stakeholder communications, planning meetings, status updates, presentations, and project decision-making.
• Build relationships with project teams, operating companies, customers, contractors, vendors, suppliers, and partners.
• Develop procurement plans, manage external service contracts, evaluate bids, negotiate terms, and oversee vendor performance.
• Mentor project managers, supervise sub-team managers, promote continuous improvement, and manage assigned programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, project management, computer science, or a related field with 3–7 years of qualified experience depending on level; equivalent associate degree or high school pathways require additional experience.
• Project management experience covering construction, estimating, project controls, project engineering, outage management, business administration, or comparable production environments.
• Knowledge of construction safety, negotiations, scope and cost control, contracting, quality control, risk management, and project reporting.
• Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, economic analysis, decision-making, conflict resolution, and team-building skills.
• Valid state driver’s license required.
• Work may involve construction sites, unstable surfaces, ladders, hazardous conditions, and possible radiation exposure at nuclear facilities within NRC limits.

Nice to have

• Experience in utilities, commercial nuclear power, or IT systems.
• PMP certification.
• Previous experience progressing from Project Manager Associate to Project Manager Senior or Principal.
