Kansas City Construction Inspection Intern

Location: Kansas City, Missouri, United States; onsite field work

What you will do

• Assist inspectors with documenting construction observations and monitoring project progress.
• Coordinate materials sampling and testing, including concrete slump and air testing, concrete test cylinders, and in-place soil compaction testing.
• Perform measurements and calculations to determine completed quantities and required materials.
• Check construction layouts and dimensions using basic measuring instruments.
• Read construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts.
• Prepare daily reports covering construction activities, inspections, tests, personnel, equipment, weather, and other project information.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate engineering program.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• Commitment to actively participating in an employee-owned culture.
• Must complete a preemployment drug test.
