CQA Construction Inspection Technician (Civil Engineering)

Location: Morgantown, West Virginia, USA; full-time on-site fieldwork, including year-round and potentially extended-duration assignments

What you will do

• Perform construction quality assurance inspections for energy and civil engineering projects.
• Verify contractor work against plan designs, project specifications, standards, and DEP regulations.
• Conduct soil compaction testing, including sieve analysis, one-point Proctors, nuclear gauge testing, and proof-roll testing.
• Inspect erosion and sedimentation controls and monitor permit compliance.
• Monitor on-site contractors, coordinate design deviations, and support project milestones with managers, clients, and contractors.
• Prepare daily field reports, testing reports, equipment records, visitor logs, and delivery documentation; provide AutoCAD, Civil 3D, operations, and engineering support when not performing CQA fieldwork.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in oil and gas, heavy equipment operation, or civil site excavation is preferred.
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in geology, environmental science, or engineering is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Willingness to perform year-round fieldwork, potentially for extended periods.
• Strong communication, organization, analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to work independently, cooperate with contractors, represent and communicate with clients, and meet deadlines.
