Civil Engineering Technician

Location: Omaha, Nebraska, United States; candidates must reside in the Omaha area. Relocation may be considered.

Salary: $25–$30 per hour, based on skills and experience.

What you will do

• Assist engineers with civil project planning, design tasks, dimensional layouts, drawings, schematics, and exhibits.
• Interpret engineering designs and prepare project information using AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and other software.
• Calculate construction quantities and cost estimates.
• Monitor transportation, civil, and municipal infrastructure construction for compliance with approved plans and specifications.
• Document field inspections, material sampling, testing, quantity measurements, and daily project activities.
• Support preconstruction and progress meetings, project updates, documentation, and reporting.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Experience using AutoCAD and Bluebeam through coursework, internships, or previous employment.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with project teams, clients, and contractors.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with accurate project documentation.
• Willingness to travel for project meetings, client visits, and field observations.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience in civil design, construction inspection, or construction-related field work.
• Experience with land development, municipal, transportation, civil infrastructure, or public works projects.
• Familiarity with construction documentation, quantity calculations, field observations, and project reporting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Advanced AutoCAD experience.
