Civil Construction Representative

Location: Remote-Colorado; candidates must reside in the United States and may not reside in AK, AR, CA, CT, DE, HI, KY, MA, RI, VT, or PR. Candidates willing to relocate should indicate this in their application. The role includes on-site observations, travel as needed, occasional overnight travel, outdoor work, and construction-site activities.

Base compensation: $25–$35 per hour, depending on skills and experience.

What you will do

• Observe transportation, civil, and municipal infrastructure construction to verify compliance with approved plans and specifications.
• Document daily field and inspection activities and measure construction quantities.
• Prepare for and assist with preconstruction, progress, and conflict-resolution meetings.
• Communicate with clients, contractors, and internal personnel.
• Support CAD production in the office using AutoCAD or MicroStation when applicable.
• Assist with proposals, project budget and schedule estimates, and constructability reviews.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least four years of construction-field experience as a Construction Project Representative or in a related role.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
• Ability to work in varied weather conditions and walk or climb over rough construction-site terrain.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and successful MVR records check required.
• Must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future. Ability to travel, work overtime, and use Microsoft Office applications is also required.

Nice to have

• Six or more years of experience on DOT, county, or municipal construction projects.
• Experience with earthwork, concrete, bituminous paving, site improvements, and street or utility construction.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering technology, civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• Applicable DOT technical certifications or the ability to obtain them within six months.
• Previous AutoCAD or MicroStation experience.
