Assistant, Raw Materials Development, RTW (Fashion Materials)

What you will do

• Support fabric and leather development for ready-to-wear collections from prototype through commercialization.
• Enter and maintain seasonal fabrics, colors, combinations, board cards, and inventory data in PLM and Finale.
• Track proto and SMS sampling orders, shipments, purchase orders, customs issues, and delivery milestones.
• Coordinate the allocation and shipment of materials to factories, mills, the in-house atelier, and design teams.
• Maintain fabric boards, hangers, racks, libraries, development binders, liability records, approval bins, and testing charts.
• Organize seasonal material testing, including submissions, yardage shipments, results tracking, and runway preparation support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Textiles, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in trims development, production, or sourcing in apparel, preferably ready-to-wear.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional work with internal and external partners.
• Experience with domestic and overseas suppliers or vendors is preferred.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PLM systems.
• Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator, garment construction, and fit processes.
• Knowledge of sustainable materials and certifications such as GOTS and OEKO-TEX.
• Familiarity with apparel testing and quality standards.
