TL;DR
Sr. Accounting & Payroll Specialist (Mexican Tax and Manufacturing): Managing end-to-end payroll, banking transactions, month-end close, and Mexico inventory accounting with an accent on tax compliance, reconciliations, and payroll accuracy. Focus on preparing Contabilidad Electrónica and DIOT filings, analyzing inventory discrepancies, coordinating external payroll and tax providers, and supporting audits.
Location: On-site in the Guadalajara area, Mexico

What you will do
- Manage the end-to-end payroll process with an external payroll provider, coordinating changes, payments, reports, vouchers, savings funds, and employee inquiries.
- Calculate monthly Mexican taxes and coordinate working papers, filings, reviews, and compliance activities with external accounting and tax advisors.
- Prepare month-end provisions, balance-sheet reconciliations, journal entries, bank transactions, cash-flow reports, and payment reports in NetSuite.
- Lead Mexico inventory accounting, including inventory ledgers, valuations, cost analysis, physical counts, reconciliations, and discrepancy resolution.
- Prepare customs import documentation reports, manage transfer-pricing recognition, and support monthly and annual financial reporting.
- Collaborate with Finance, HR, Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, external auditors, and payroll and tax vendors.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in audit, technical accounting, and/or financial reporting.
- Experience preparing Contabilidad Electrónica, DIOT, and Mexican tax filings, with knowledge of Mexican payroll compliance requirements.
- 3+ years of payroll administration experience, including multi-state payroll and work with external payroll vendors.
- Experience with NetSuite and advanced proficiency in Excel and payroll or accounting reporting tools.
- Familiarity with CONTPaq; English proficiency is required for reading, writing, and cross-functional communication with global teams.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines, prioritize workload, work cross-functionally, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to have
- Experience with Pluxee, Multiva, Odessa, additional payroll systems, and banking platforms.
- Knowledge of transfer-pricing regulations in Mexico.
- Experience with customs and import documentation, including Pedimentos.
- Experience in a technology startup or manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and attention-to-detail skills.
