Sr. Payroll Analyst

Location: Mexico — Ciudad de Mexico — Plaza Carso; position available at the Altamira Plant

What you will do

• Administer end-to-end biweekly and monthly payroll cycles.
• Ensure payroll compliance for exempt and non-exempt, union and non-union employee populations, including garnishments, bonuses, severance, and related tracking.
• Analyze payroll data, resolve processing errors and system issues, and troubleshoot payroll problems.
• Maintain legally required payroll files, respond to external information requests, and review payroll audit reports.
• Establish payroll procedures, define process standards, and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
• Support audits including SOX controls, stock and equity administration, system-upgrade testing, and payroll year-end activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or five years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
• At least three years of end-to-end payroll processing experience, including experience with a large multi-state corporation.
• Microsoft Office skills, including Excel pivot tables and lookups.
• Thorough knowledge of payroll-related legal, tax, state, and compliance requirements, including time and attendance impacts on non-exempt pay.
• Understanding of basic accounting principles, journal entries, reconciliations, and decentralized payroll best practices.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills required for collaboration across all organizational levels.
