Senior Accountant

Location: Hybrid role based in Oak Brook, Illinois, United States

Salary: $70,000–$83,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Execute month-end close activities, prepare and post journal entries, and complete balance sheet reconciliations for U.S. and Canadian entities.
• Partner with Procurement and Supply Chain teams on vendor rebates, accruals, and financial reporting.
• Analyze in-transit inventory, cost variances, purchase material reserves, purchase price variances, and excess or obsolete inventory.
• Maintain standard costs in the ERP and investigate accounting-rule errors, mispostings, and unresolved balances.
• Manage weekly freight pay runs, monthly freight accruals, and freight cost allocations across divisions and locations.
• Support audits, borrowing base requests, special projects, business analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing, distribution, or supply chain.
• Hands-on experience with inventory accounting, standard costing, cost absorption, or purchase price variance analysis.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, advanced formulas, and financial modeling.
• Experience with ERP systems such as M3, D365, Oracle HFM/FCC, or similar, plus Power BI or comparable reporting tools.
• Experience with AI tools such as Claude, Copilot, or similar, along with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
