Maintenance Mechanic 3 (Manufacturing)

Location: Smyrna, Tennessee, United States; onsite, 1st shift

Salary: $24.88–$35.50 per hour, plus potential overtime, shift differential, call-in, and standby pay.

What you will do

• Maintain production equipment and respond to equipment errors and failures.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems across presses, die cutters, folders, inserting machines, conveyors, and bindery equipment.
• Interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, operating manuals, and manufacturer specifications to isolate malfunctions.
• Repair or reproduce replacement parts using welders, lathes, milling machines, drill presses, surface grinders, and other machine-shop equipment.
• Perform precise alignment, adjustment, pressure, flow, and dimensional measurements.
• Train and mentor new and existing employees on policies, procedures, and maintenance best practices.

Requirements

• Advanced knowledge of complex equipment, machine controls, and mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic failures.
• Ability to install, troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, align, test, and maintain complex machinery.
• Ability to make precise adjustments for alignment, parallelism, and concentricity.
• Ability to measure air and fluid pressure and flow and interpret the results.
• Ability to read complex multiview drawings, sketches, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of construction and assembly techniques, geometry, shop mathematics, and formulas for calculating angles, clearances, fits, pressure, and flow.
