Senior Engineer (OpenBMC)

Location: Duluth, Georgia, United States; onsite. Requires satisfactory proof of the right to work in the United States of America.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain OpenBMC firmware features.
• Support platform bring-up, porting, migration, integration, and debugging of BMC software.
• Analyze upstream changes and port required changesets to the platform.
• Implement and validate management protocols and platform interfaces.
• Collaborate with platform, hardware, and validation teams on enablement, testing, troubleshooting, and releases.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of experience in OpenBMC or BMC firmware development.
• Strong hands-on OpenBMC experience and understanding of BMC architecture and firmware.
• Knowledge of hardware interfaces including I2C, I3C, UART, GPIO, PSU, and SPI.
• Experience with MCTP, PLDM, NCSI, and NVMe-MI protocols.
• Familiarity with Yocto-based build environments and strong C/C++ programming skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Duluth, Georgia, and right to work in the United States of America.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Python.
• Experience debugging firmware and hardware interaction issues.
• Experience with system bring-up, feature development, porting, and issue resolution in OpenBMC environments.
