Firmware Engineer (Embedded)

What you will do

• Design and implement embedded firmware for WaferSense, 3D MRS, and other sensor projects.
• Coordinate timing and data across cameras, LEDs, and Digital Mirror Devices.
• Debug and troubleshoot PCBAs with electrical engineering using logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
• Collaborate with software engineering on PC applications that control sensors.
• Define reusable hardware and software architectures and document firmware interfaces.
• Develop unit and stress tests, solve field issues, and mentor less experienced engineers and interns.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience developing applications for custom electronic hardware.
• Proficiency in C and C++ for embedded systems.
• Strong electrical engineering background, including schematic and datasheet interpretation.
• Experience using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers to examine electronics.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout product development.

Nice to have

• Embedded Linux development with Yocto, Bitbake, device drivers, patches, layers, recipes, and U-Boot.
• Real-time firmware and SPI, I2C, UART, and SDIO communication with sensor ICs.
• Bluetooth Classic, Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, USB, and Ethernet.
• Embedded image processing, digital signal processing, Bash, Python, and Git.
