Project Safety Manager (Civil Construction)

Location: Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on the Platte Winner Bridge project; subsequent projects are nationally based.

Company

Heavy civil and industrial contractor building highways, bridges, mines, dams, rail infrastructure, and other critical projects.

What you will do

• Oversee project safety disciplines and monitor day-to-day construction operations.
• Implement the Project Safety Program, including site safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct new-hire orientations, safety training, and safety meetings.
• Monitor heavy construction work for compliance and stop unsafe work when necessary.
• Assess risks, investigate incidents, and analyze project safety statistics.
• Support project setup, budget control, and communication with clients, subcontractors, and regional safety teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a construction safety supervisory role.
• Extensive knowledge of civil construction.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Positive attitude and excellent motivational skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach, and climb at construction sites and work around high noise levels.

Nice to have

• OSHA 500 or equivalent.
• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety.
• Certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.
