FP&A Expense Manager

Location: Baltimore, MD; hybrid schedule with in-office work Tuesday through Thursday

Target base salary: $120,000–$150,000 per year, plus eligibility for performance-based bonuses or incentives.

What you will do

• Lead monthly and quarterly operating expense forecasting across compensation, occupancy, supplies, and discretionary spending.
• Partner with Branch Operations, HR, Procurement, and other stakeholders to model headcount plans, hiring trends, and attrition across more than 1,300 branches and 5,000 field employees.
• Analyze and explain variances against plan, outlook, and prior-year results across salaries, benefits, overtime, occupancy, professional services, direct mail, affiliate, social, and other marketing expenses.
• Develop branch-level productivity metrics, including approved applications, originations, and pull-through rates, and link them to financial performance.
• Support branch refresh programs, vendor transitions, and cost optimization initiatives.
• Prepare executive-ready presentations for mid-year forecasts, monthly business reviews, and senior leadership forecast reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 5+ years of FP&A experience, preferably in a multi-unit retail or financial services environment.
• Strong financial modeling, variance analysis, and headcount planning skills.
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial planning systems such as Hyperion or Power BI.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
• Ability to work from the Baltimore office Tuesday through Thursday.
