Engineering Manager II (Aerospace)

Location: Dayton, OH, United States; office or hybrid setting required

What you will do

• Lead a multidisciplinary engineering team and drive delivery against project milestones.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, monitor costs, and manage engineering resources.
• Direct technical solutions for complex engineering challenges and improve engineering processes.
• Ensure engineering work complies with applicable standards, regulations, and aerospace and defense requirements.
• Coordinate collaboration between engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
• Mentor engineering staff and present project updates and technical data to senior management and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in a related discipline.
• Typically 8+ years of progressive engineering experience, including 4+ years of management experience.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices.
• Experience with computer-aided engineering tools, analysis, and simulation.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary design and development teams.
• U.S. citizenship is required, along with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience recruiting, assigning, directing, and evaluating engineering staff.
• Experience coordinating tools, processes, training, staffing, schedules, budgets, bids, and estimates.
• Background in aerospace and defense, the U.S. Department of Defense, or the U.S. military.
• Experience with rapid prototyping, fielding capabilities, and highly collaborative environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project.
