TL;DR
Engineering Manager, RF Hardware (Aerospace): Leading the development and production transition of high-performance RF electronics for satellite, UAV, and launch-vehicle communication systems with an accent on phased arrays, beamforming networks, RF front-ends, and software-defined radios. Focus on building and mentoring an 8–12-person engineering team, conducting architecture and design reviews, solving complex RF debug challenges, and scaling DFM/DFT practices for aerospace production.

Location: Austin, TX; on-site. The role supports an initial team primarily in Austin and Westminster, with a smaller presence in El Segundo. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, conditional residents, asylees or refugees, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

Company

hirify.global develops communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms.

What you will do

  • Lead the technical development and delivery of board-level RF electronics, from architecture and design through manufacturing and production.
  • Build, coach, and develop an initial team of approximately 8–12 RF hardware engineers.
  • Establish scalable processes for signal-chain analysis, simulation, schematic capture, and dense, high-layer-count PCB layout.
  • Conduct architecture and design reviews, provide technical mentorship, and support complex RF debugging.
  • Drive DFM, DFT, design reuse, modular architectures, and disciplined engineering-to-manufacturing handoffs.
  • Partner with product leadership, manufacturing engineering, supply chain, quality, and operations on delivery, risk, staffing, and resource planning.

Requirements

  • U.S. export-control eligibility or ability to obtain the required U.S. authorizations.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 9 years of direct board-level RF hardware engineering experience, preferably in aerospace.
  • Deep expertise in RF board design, including digital and power electronics, DFM, DFT, and production transition.
  • Experience with RF simulation and analysis tools such as Pathwave System Design, RF Synthesis, and HFSS.
  • Hands-on experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools such as Altium, plus strong technical communication skills.

Nice to have

  • 2–5 years of small-team technical leadership or engineering management experience.
  • Experience in aerospace environments and production at scale.

Culture & Benefits

  • Hands-on, interactive, autonomous, and cross-functional engineering environment.
  • Opportunity to work across technical disciplines including digital, RF, power, firmware, mechanical, quality, and operations.
  • Responsibility for staffing, performance management, career development, succession planning, and engineering team budgets.
