What you will do

• Lead and mentor a distributed engineering team fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Drive execution of technical initiatives to improve scalability, reliability, and performance of core platforms.
• Collaborate with Product, Platform, and Security teams to define roadmaps and prioritize work.
• Provide technical guidance and architectural oversight ensuring best practices and compliance.
• Recruit and develop engineering talent aligned with company mission and culture.
• Contribute to evolving engineering processes and delivery frameworks as the company scales.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship required due to government contract requirements.
• Must reside in one of the approved U.S. hiring hubs.
• 6+ years professional software engineering experience with 2+ years in technical leadership.
• Experience leading distributed teams in high-growth or startup environments.
• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with SaaS or platform products in regulated or security-sensitive industries.
• Familiarity with secure software development frameworks (NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, SOC 2).
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code, observability, and automation frameworks.
• Proven success leading cross-functional initiatives and driving agile continuous improvement.
• Active security clearance or prior work in cleared environments.
