Manager, Mechanical Engineering (Aerospace)

Location: On-site in Westminster, Colorado, United States. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, conditional residents, asylees, refugees, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and scale a mechanical engineering organization across multiple programs.
• Provide technical authority for mechanical architecture, trade studies, system requirements, and key design decisions.
• Guide development through concept, design, analysis, manufacturing, integration, testing, qualification, and in-orbit support.
• Oversee high-risk and high-visibility programs, including design reviews and milestone execution.
• Define and improve engineering standards, documentation, analysis methodologies, and verification and validation processes.
• Collaborate with systems engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, program management, customers, suppliers, and partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 7–9 years of mechanical design and analysis experience in aerospace or space systems, including 1–3 years of engineering management experience.
• Deep expertise in aerospace and space mechanical design, structural, thermal, and dynamic analysis.
• Experience with electronics packaging at PCBA and system levels, environmental testing, qualification standards, system integration, AI&T, and launch constraints.
• Knowledge of aerospace materials and manufacturing processes, including CNC machining, composites, and additive manufacturing.
• Proficiency with CAD and PDM tools such as SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM, plus simulation or FEA tools such as ANSYS Mechanical or SolidWorks Simulation.
