What you will do

• Repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel trucks and equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, engines, HVAC, suspension, drivetrains, and steering systems.
• Diagnose multi-system malfunctions using electronic diagnostic tools.
• Maintain hydraulic, electrical, air brake, and diesel emissions systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance, basic tire work, line maintenance welding, and fabrication.
• Provide safe road service when required to return company equipment to operation.
• Complete company training programs and support drivers operating their routes.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in a technician position diagnosing and repairing gasoline- and diesel-powered equipment, or graduation from an accredited automotive college or technical school within three months.
• Experience or knowledge maintaining Class 1–5 light/medium-duty and Class 7–8 heavy-duty trucks, aircraft, or ships.
• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and perform basic inspections with limited supervision.
• Knowledge of suspension, steering, engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drivetrains, and diesel emissions systems.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• ASE T1–T8 certifications and a commercial driver’s license are beneficial but not required.
