Buyer I (Aerospace)

Location: Burbank, California, United States; onsite manufacturing environment. Only US persons will be considered due to controlled data access and ITAR requirements.

Salary: $32.19–$39.17 per hour.

Crane Aerospace & Electronics supplies critical systems and components to the aerospace and defense markets, including aircraft, satellite, medical implant, missile, and unmanned aerial system applications.

What you will do

• Perform material requirements planning and coordinate production material needs with manufacturing teams and external suppliers.
• Communicate production priorities and schedule changes to outside processing suppliers and monitor orders for timely shipment.
• Develop inventory action plans, improve supplier fill rates and lead times, and support Kanban-based replenishment.
• Obtain supplier quotes, negotiate blanket purchase orders, and pursue cost-reduction initiatives.
• Publish shortage reports, resolve invoice discrepancies, and coordinate supplier quality issues through NCR and CAR processes.
• Process returns and supplier rework transactions in Oracle ERP, including RMA and debit memo procedures.

Requirements

• 0–2 years of buying experience in a similar industry or equivalent supply chain knowledge gained through work experience or education.
• Knowledge of manufacturing, buying and ordering procedures, scheduling, MRP, inventory control, purchasing, production planning, and Kanban systems.
• Proficiency in Excel and Word, with the ability to work with Access databases.
• Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving, negotiation, mathematical, and logical reasoning skills.
• BA or BS degree in Supply Chain, Business, Materials, or a related field is desired.
• Must qualify as a US person under ITAR requirements.
