TL;DR
Buyer I (Aerospace Procurement): Managing supplier purchasing, material requirements planning, and production component deliveries for aerospace and defense manufacturing with an accent on inventory control, supplier coordination, and regulated procurement processes. Focus on improving supplier fill rates and lead times, implementing Kanban replenishment, resolving material nonconformities, and maintaining production continuity.
Location: Burbank, California, United States; onsite manufacturing environment. Only US persons will be considered due to controlled data access and ITAR requirements.
Salary: $32.19–$39.17 per hour.

Crane Aerospace & Electronics supplies critical systems and components to the aerospace and defense markets, including aircraft, satellite, medical implant, missile, and unmanned aerial system applications.
What you will do
- Perform material requirements planning and coordinate production material needs with manufacturing teams and external suppliers.
- Communicate production priorities and schedule changes to outside processing suppliers and monitor orders for timely shipment.
- Develop inventory action plans, improve supplier fill rates and lead times, and support Kanban-based replenishment.
- Obtain supplier quotes, negotiate blanket purchase orders, and pursue cost-reduction initiatives.
- Publish shortage reports, resolve invoice discrepancies, and coordinate supplier quality issues through NCR and CAR processes.
- Process returns and supplier rework transactions in Oracle ERP, including RMA and debit memo procedures.
Requirements
- 0–2 years of buying experience in a similar industry or equivalent supply chain knowledge gained through work experience or education.
- Knowledge of manufacturing, buying and ordering procedures, scheduling, MRP, inventory control, purchasing, production planning, and Kanban systems.
- Proficiency in Excel and Word, with the ability to work with Access databases.
- Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving, negotiation, mathematical, and logical reasoning skills.
- BA or BS degree in Supply Chain, Business, Materials, or a related field is desired.
- Must qualify as a US person under ITAR requirements.
