R&D CNC Programmer (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Review engineering drawings, operation travelers, and work instructions to plan machining jobs, select tooling and materials, and determine efficient setups.
• Develop, load, and optimize CNC programs for turning and milling machines, including cutting speeds, feeds, machining sequences, and depths of cut.
• Set up and operate CNC machines, including loading, centering, chucking, and fixturing parts.
• Monitor machine performance, inspect tooling, and make process adjustments to maintain quality and consistency.
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, verniers, thread gauges, and plug gauges.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas, complete inspection and labor records, and perform scheduled machine maintenance.

Requirements

• Experience programming CNC mills and lathes with Mastercam, Fusion 360, GibbsCAM, or similar CAM software.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or comparable CAD software.
• Experience with FANUC, Haas, or similar CNC controls.
• Strong knowledge of G-code/M-code programming, tooling selection, speeds and feeds, blueprint interpretation, and GD&T.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment and performing quality inspections.
• Ability to work onsite in North Kingstown, Rhode Island.
