Machinist (CNC)

Hourly wage: $24.59–$27.13

What you will do

• Set up and operate CNC machining centers, CNC turning centers, press brakes, lasers, drills, benders, and plate cutters using Fanuc, Siemens, and HAAS controls.
• Read blueprints and GD&T documentation, select tooling and fixtures, load programs, and make basic control-level edits and offset updates.
• Measure and verify parts with micrometers, calipers, and height gauges while documenting results and maintaining tight tolerances.
• Safely handle raw materials and finished parts using cranes and hoists, following rigging, EHS, LOTO, and PPE procedures.
• Apply shop math, meet rate and throughput targets, minimize scrap, and perform routine equipment checks and TPM.
• Support 5S, lean manufacturing, and continuous-improvement initiatives by escalating issues that affect uptime.

Requirements

• Entry-level machining experience or formal training through a technical school, apprenticeship, or equivalent is preferred.
• Ability to complete the machining training program.
• Ability to learn and apply precision measurement techniques and document quality results.
• Ability to learn CNC equipment operation, blueprint and GD&T interpretation, tooling and fixture selection, program loading, and basic offset updates.
• Commitment to equipment care, workplace organization, safety procedures, and continuous improvement.
• Regular onsite work at the Piedmont, South Carolina campus is required.
