CNC Machinist - Lathe - 2nd Shift (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Auburn, California, United States. Monday–Friday, 4:00 p.m.–1:30 a.m. Relocation support of up to $5,000 may be available for candidates outside the Bay Area.

Salary: $27.36–$46.15 per hour, plus a 10% second-shift differential. New hires are eligible for a $1,000 sign-on bonus.

Crane Aerospace & Electronics supplies critical systems and components for aerospace and defense applications, including complex flow-control products and engine/APU systems.

What you will do

• Set up and operate CNC lathes to produce machined aerospace and defense parts.
• Review work orders, blueprints, manufacturing orders, and machining parameters.
• Validate materials, maintain specifications, and replace worn tooling when needed.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions, excessive vibration, dull cutting tools, and other machining issues.
• Measure finished workpieces with precision instruments, templates, and fixtures to verify conformance.
• Document completed work and communicate required next steps between shifts.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of CNC lathe machining experience.
• Knowledge of micrometers, calipers, height gages, safety procedures, tooling, cutting-tool geometry, and GD&T.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail, accurate record keeping, and effective verbal and written communication.
• Access to controlled data may be restricted to US Persons under ITAR requirements.
• Ability to stand for the full shift, lift up to 30 pounds, push up to 50 pounds, and work overtime when necessary.

Nice to have

• CNC mill experience.
• Understanding of CNC G-code, basic math, geometry, and trigonometry.
• Strong teamwork skills.
