(USA) Optical Associate, Non-Certified – Sam’s Club - part time

Location: Sam’s Club, 5314 Allentown Pike, Temple, Pennsylvania 19560-1249, United States

Hourly wage: $20.50–$28.50 per hour. Additional premiums may range from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances.

What you will do

• Stock, organize, price, clean, and maintain merchandise displays and the optical sales floor.
• Assist members with eyewear and contact lens purchases, prescription verification, measurements, adjustments, repairs, orders, and refunds.
• Measure pupillary distance and position of wear for different lens types and complete final eyewear inspections, including compound prism verification.
• Support optometrist and telehealth services by scheduling appointments, performing pre-testing under guidance, recording results, and collecting payments.
• Maintain trial lens inventory, optical equipment calibration and cleanliness, and coordinate equipment repairs and lab communications.
• Process POS transactions, insurance claims, payments, chargebacks, and member records while following company procedures and HIPAA requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent upon entry or within 12 months of hire.
• Meet applicable age, registration, certification, and state requirements for optical associates.
• Obtain American Board of Opticianry certification within 15 months of hire or job entry.
• Be willing and able to register and maintain an NPI number where required by state law.
• In applicable states, satisfy apprenticeship requirements and obtain required optician licensure within the stated deadlines.
• Complete required virtual and hands-on training and maintain certifications or registrations without lapse.
