Licensed Optician Part Time (Optical)

Location: Dedham, Massachusetts, United States; onsite, part-time

Salary: $28.00–$34.25 per hour, plus potential spiff compensation

What you will do

• Dispense spectacles and other optical products for adults and children using prescriptions from optometrists and ophthalmologists.
• Verify prescription data, compare orders with original prescriptions, and maintain accurate order records.
• Take measurements, assess frame suitability, read prescriptions with a lensometer, and notify members when products are ready.
• Educate members on available optical products and recommend options that support their visual needs.
• Process payments, support opening and closing procedures, and help achieve sales and service goals.
• Adjust and repair eyeglasses while protecting confidential health information under HIPAA requirements.

Requirements

• Active optician license valid in the state of Massachusetts is required.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is essential.
• Knowledge of optical products and business practices is preferred.
• High school diploma, college degree, or wholesale, retail, or optical experience is preferred.
