Licensed Optician Full Time

Location: Plymouth, Massachusetts, United States; onsite

Salary: $28.00–$34.25 per hour, excluding additional spiff-program compensation.

What you will do

• Dispense spectacles and other optical products for adults and children using prescriptions from optometrists and ophthalmologists.
• Verify order data and prescriptions, complete filing procedures, and advance orders through received, notification, and dispensing stages.
• Take measurements, assess frame compatibility with prescription power, read prescriptions with a lensometer, and notify members when products are ready.
• Advise members on lenses and frames, explain exam-fee procedures, recommend products, and support sales and service goals.
• Perform eyeglass adjustments and repairs using optical hand tools, and assist with opening and closing procedures and payment collection.
• Maintain privacy, HIPAA, club-policy, safety, cleanliness, and member-service standards.

Requirements

• Active optician license to work in the state of employment is required.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with close attention to detail.
• Open shift availability and regular, predictable full attendance are required for this full-time role.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma, college degree, and retail, wholesale, or optical experience are preferred.
• Ability to move frequently, bend, reach, stoop, and lift objects up to 20 pounds; assistance may be required for heavier or awkward objects.
