Modeling & Simulation Engineer - Senior Level

Location: New Hudson, Michigan, United States; up to 20% domestic and international travel required. The role involves hands-on work with test hardware in shop or wind tunnel environments and typical Monday–Friday hours starting between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM.

Salary: $91,500–$148,100 per year.

What you will do

• Lead virtual analysis workflows and co-simulation programs to meet technical requirements and program timelines.
• Architect, develop, and execute virtual models integrating hardware and software for mechanical systems.
• Develop and integrate multiphysics tools covering multibody dynamics, 1-D hydraulics, and controls.
• Create functional mock-up units, FMUs, reduced-order models, and interface models for cross-functional teams.
• Develop durability requirements, load cases, acceptance criteria, and verification plans.
• Build and correlate rigid and flexible multibody dynamics models, analyze test data, document results, and communicate engineering recommendations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience with simulation tools and co-simulation.
• Hands-on experience with MBD tools such as Adams, MotionSolve, Simscape Multibody, Simpack, or equivalent, plus knowledge of 1-D simulation tools.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, CLI, or similar tools; experience with Matlab and Simulink; and understanding of control systems.
• Knowledge of DOE methods, data interpretation, signal processing, data acquisition systems, and mechanical instrumentation.
• Ability to work independently, communicate across multidisciplinary teams, maintain consistent attendance, and lift or move equipment up to 50 lbs.
