Workday Extend Lead - Senior Manager (Workday)

Location: Chicago, United States

Salary: $165,000–$190,000 annually. Total estimated compensation, including annual incentive compensation, is $181,000–$228,000.

What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end design, architecture, development, and delivery of Workday Extend applications.
• Translate complex business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
• Define architecture standards, design patterns, and best practices for Workday Extend development.
• Provide hands-on guidance to development teams and conduct design reviews, code reviews, and solution validation.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and ensure alignment across Workday HCM, Finance, Integrations, and Reporting.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for clients and stakeholders, leading technical workshops and solution walkthroughs.

Requirements

• 5–8+ years of Workday experience, including hands-on Workday Extend development.
• Experience designing and delivering Workday Extend solutions in client-facing roles.
• Experience across HCM, Finance, Integrations, and Reporting domains.
• Strong understanding of Workday architecture, data models, security, and the business process framework.
• Experience with Workday integrations, including Studio, EIB, and APIs.
• Knowledge of APIs, JSON, and event-driven architecture concepts, plus strong communication skills.
