Company

hirify.global is a publicly traded biotech and pharmaceutical company developing therapies for rare diseases and technologies to expand the availability of transplantable organs.

What you will do

  • Design and execute studies of innate and adaptive immune responses in donor and engineered lungs during ex vivo lung perfusion.
  • Evaluate immunomodulatory strategies to improve lung preservation, reduce inflammation, and enhance post-transplant outcomes.
  • Support lung-directed gene delivery using AAV, lentiviral, adenoviral, mRNA/LNP, and other platforms.
  • Characterize immune cells and inflammatory pathways using flow cytometry, cytokine assays, transcriptomics, and histology.
  • Develop molecular and functional assays and support preclinical transplant studies, data interpretation, and IND-enabling work.
  • Collaborate with device, manufacturing, analytical, translational, and regulatory teams; mentor junior scientists and contribute to scientific publications and presentations.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in immunology, transplant biology, molecular biology, pulmonary biology, gene therapy, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of related biotech or pharmaceutical industry experience with a Master’s degree, or 5+ years with a PhD.
  • Strong background in immunology, including immune cell biology, inflammatory signaling, or transplant immunology.
  • Experience with viral vector or non-viral gene delivery platforms and immunologic or molecular assay development.
  • Strong experimental design, data analysis, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams and to mentor team members.

Nice to have

  • PhD in immunology, transplant biology, pulmonary biology, gene therapy, or a related field.
  • Experience with lung transplantation, ex vivo lung perfusion, thoracic organ preservation, or immune modulation.
  • Experience with pulmonary or transplant gene therapy, cell or gene therapy development, human tissue, or translational preclinical models.
  • Familiarity with IND-enabling studies and regulatory interactions.

Culture & Benefits

  • Mission-driven work focused on rare diseases and increasing the availability of transplantable organs.
  • Medical, dental, vision, prescription, wellness, savings, 401(k), and ESPP programs for eligible employees.
  • Paid time off, paid parental leave, and disability benefits for eligible employees.
